Manjeet Sarkar is an internationally acclaimed stand-up comedian who has been featured by The Guardian, Christian Science Monitor, The Print, Brut and more. He is the first comedian from the Dalit community and rural India to tour nationally, with his show Untouchable unveiling the unspoken experiences of India’s silenced majority, turning sad or taboo situations into revelation through laughter. He was also the first comedian to represent India at the United Nations 75th anniversary for the Declaration of Human Rights in Bangkok, Thailand.

Untouchable: Laughing Out Caste is Sarkar’s first featured length documentary that covers his groundbreaking journey, capturing his unique perspective on rural and urban life, caste, and class. Through personal interviews, the documentary offers a glimpse into the lives of individuals affected by caste-based discrimination, coupled with the voices of diverse comedians, fostering understanding and reflection.
