The 11th Annual Harjit Kaur Sidhu Memorial Program:
Celebrating Punjabi Language and Culture at UBC
The Harjit Kaur Sidhu Memorial Program celebrates the rich life of Punjabi language and culture and its importance in BC, in memory of a woman who shared such passions. Our originally planned-for guest, Mushtaq Soofi, cannot attend, but we will hold the program with an expansion of our planned celebration of the life of Gurcharan Rampuri, a major figure in the BC Punjabi literary community. Join us also for awards to winners of a student Punjabi-language essay contest; a lifetime achievement award for BC-based Punjabi language writer, Joginder Shamsher; and performances by UBC Punjabi language students.
